Technical Analyst - Trading Application Support

The Role
The business analyst role will primarily work within the Markets Tech team to deliver BA support across a broad range of internal\external projects, client support requests, for Jarden institutional clients and their traders.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Provide 1st line support for issues within core Trading Platforms (IRESS/IOS/Securitease)
  • Provide 2nd line support for all core Trading Platforms, including receiving escalation requests from the Trading Desk, and the firms client technical teams. This may involve investigating why events occurred or did not occur through analysing log files and comparing between different systems etc.
  • Taking ownership of issues and following through to resolution
  • Responsible for administration of Core Trading Platforms – User Creation and general administrative tasks
  • Build and maintain effective and productive relationships with the stakeholders in business, development, infrastructure, and third party systems/data providers, and vendors
  • Manage resolution of technical issues for clients. Clients are internal and external users of Financial Trading applications.
  • Resolve service desk requests submitted by application end users and escalate issues that cannot be resolved
  • Build up technical subject matter expertise on the applications being supported including business flows, the application architecture, and the hardware configuration
About You
You have exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills with outstanding verbal and non-verbal communication skills. You have a natural ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine solutions. Along with strong critical thinking skills you also enjoy problem solving and can think conceptually about complex systems.
In addition, you have
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting a Trading desk or similar role
  • Ideally some exposure to platforms like Iress, IOS, and Securitease
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification – essential
